Professional Excellence



In 1800 Benjamin Franklin listed out for himself and generations to come following qualities for professional excellence:
·         Temperance
Eat not to dullness and drink not for elevation.

·         Silence
Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself.
Avoid trifling conversation.

·         Order
Let all your things have places
Let each part of your business have its time.

·         Resolution
Resolve to perform what you ought.
Perform without fail what you resolve.

·         Frugality
Make no expenses but to do good to others and yourself.

·         Industry
Lose no time always be involved in something useful.
Cut off all necessary actions.

·         Sincerity
Use no hurtful deceit.
Think innocently and justly. And if you speak, speak accordingly.

·         Justice
Wrong none by doing injury or omitting the benefits that are your duty.

·         Moderation
Avoid Extremes.
Forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.

·         Tranquillity
Be not disturbed at trifles or at accidents common or unavoidable.

·         Humility
Emulate Jesus or Socrates or god whom worship.
